Here is an Update on Decker Truck Lines. They have lots of trucks, Lots of trailers but fall short on loads. If you call a dispatcher for a load you have to wait on them to call a load planner and play a back and forth game. They lose lots of loads due to the time it takes for 2 guys to agree on a load. They are reprograming their trucks against recommend settings causing lots of break downs. their mileage changes more than a strip at the club,. You will run 1500 one week ##### about it they bump you to 1800 than maybe maybe get lucky and get 3000...I promise if you go to decker you will be looking at 3 crap pays and one amazing pay....which turns to an okish month....you will not get ahead if you have a family at home. and home time forget about it. when you ask to go home it takes a week to get heading that way. They do have their favs though who get home anytime. you find them easy. cause you will dead head 300 miles to cover their load that unloads 100 miles away but they want go home today not tommorrow. Ive been with decker a short time but talk to lots of drivers and have seen these things first hand. I am stuck here alittle long cause i do not want to mess up my work history with a short time here. so once i find another job i am gone. you will go nuts working here......

Have you ever tried the chain of command on these issues or do you just send a QC message " need more miles"?
Stop listening to drivers complain and stop being the complainer. It's going to trick you into thinking its more complicated than it truly is. -
I pull some loads for Decker with no problems. They are not a training company nor do they expect to have to babysit drivers. If you take your job seriously and get load picked up and dropped on time and take care of their equipment you'll get miles. If you're high maintenance then go somewhere else.

Hi I am looking at Decker and thinking of going to them. I have been reading the reviews on them. Could someone please shed some light on this company. I haven't committed to them , but like I said I am looking at going to them. From talking with the recruiter they sound good , from the family side of things. All I am asking is an honest feedback about them. Thanks

They also have a smaller operation out of lemars IA, BT Inc. Hauling mainly ice cream outbound and anything and everything backhaul. I drove for them a while back and did well. You are known by name, they have a small office so you are not lost in the shuffle and they are part of Decker but operate independently. I was home every 10-14 days but could have stayed out longer if needed. I think they are worth a phone call. I had an opportunity to be home every night so I took it else I might still be there.

Well thank you for the advice . I am going to go to them this coming Monday. They have done all of the checks on me and they will be renting a car for me to get to Ft. Dodge. Looking forward to running for them.I s there anything else that you can tell me about Decker , would greatly appreciate it.

Nothing really, I think they appreciate low maintenance drivers that do a good job, are safe and look after the equipment, Good luck.
-
so are they on e -logs or paper, my brother called me last night and his friend called him and told them that Decker is hiring and i'll be running on the cold side of this trucking as that what i'm used too thank's for all the honest answer's and sorry for bad spelling and stuff.

They are on E-Logs. My brother drives on the flat side. So I don't know much about the freezer side.

Decker is full of crooks and liars. I worked for them for a short period in which only the first two weeks had the miles the said i would get than they dropped when i asked about it i was told not to complain i was working atleast. than when i did complain i was terminated for not listing a citation that was not driving related nor criminal or misdomener. they could not even be good about firing me as they lied told me to load a trailer for ohio. than after i got the load they said they needed me to bring it to missola terminal drop it so i could cover another load. when i got woke up the next morning during my 10 hour break they said they need the truck to do work on it, in which i knew it needed a sensor replaced. when i got to the shop i was called in fired and forced to leave with out my personal belongs. i got them back later that day but now my 400 dollar wedding band is gone and they wont return my calls or anything. well decker be ready i got a laywer and should the chose not to respond to him has told me we can sue for the ring and damages theft and a couple other things. he told me to expect either my ring back before court or up to 50,000 in court. so dont go to work for these crooks.
they suck. read my last post on what they did to me. this has happend to a bunch of drivers latlyLast edited by a moderator: Jan 25, 2014
