I was curious to know how many of our contracted carriers actually use the ACG program and what are the benefits/downfalls of utilizing it? Corporate has been on us to use it on a trial basis because they believe we would see a benefit out of it with the volume of freight we move out of numerous areas. Just thought I'd ask and see what kind of feedback I got on it.

No idea what it is, would you mind explaining?

Essentially, agents can put their regular lanes up for auction and can either set it up to a favorite group of select Approved Carriers or in general to everyone who is setup on the program through Landstar Broker load board. You set it up to run for a certain length of time and at the end of that time it assigns to to the winning carrier. You essentially put your rate you need in that lane and it matches the most appropriate carrier to the load and automatically tenders the load to them electronically.

Sounds like another way for Landstar to bid down rates...
