I'm a company driver and put my own antenna on the mirror mount of this Volvo. Can I use the ground stud on the dash board power supply for the ground?

Put it on the ground. It is a ground wire.

All jokes aside, I put my wire on the batteries, with a breaker, of course.

In all seriousness the (ground side ) or (negative) battery terminal is Not a ground !

If you are going to ground it run it to the chassis- (frame)

What I meant, on my battery mount. Whoops.
It's metal, and its bolted into the frame. Heard some guys run it to the nearest metal object in the cab.
