Howdy folks,
Sitting here at the Woodfield Inn in marshfield waiting on 6am tomorrow morning to roll around for orientation. I'll try and post updates as things move along...
So far no room mate yet here at the hotel. Probably just jinxed myself... haha

Day 1 went pretty well. Dragged a bit as things start to get moving. Got the drug test and stress test stuff outta the way. Roehl brought in lunch for us. Dont get the fish sandwich.. Haha. The chicken cordoun blu was pretty tasty though.
After lunch, did some classroom time and head back to the hotel. Tomorrow we do classroom and paperwork in the am, then out to the trucks in the afternoon...
So far so good

Keep the posts coming Jax- I'm hoping to get with Roehl next month and train in Marshfield. Looking forward to all you have time to post. Good luck with training!
jaxchief Thanks this. -
I am due to start in Ellensburg, GA on the 13th. I am glad it is going good for you.
-
I'd be interested in hearing about training Ellenwood too. I'm going dry van national. Looks like you've been doing this a while; you going through training or just orientation for experienced drivers?
-
I am going just for orientation.

Day 2
We did some more paperwork this morning. After we participated in "the roehl way" presentation. It was pretty interesting, even though it can drag a lil depending on whos doing it. Everyone at roehl has to go this. Have fun!
For those who goto marshfield, avoid the fish sandwich for lunch... Haha
After lunch we went over the roehl pretrip and post trip. Then headed out for a quick trip around marshfield. Headed in to do some breif classroom training before heading back to tge hotel...
Tomorrow is more driving.
Everything seams to be going good, no complaints. But im tired from the bit of homework we had and headed to bed...
Thanks for the best wishes

Day 3
Things went pretty well today. We did a very brief bit of classroom time this morning, then went out on the road all day. There are 3 of us in our truck with the trainer so each person gets about 2.5 hours of driving time. Did pretty good seeing its been 6 weeks since I last was behind the wheel since school. Took a few miles to get used to a 10 speed, as i learned on a 9. But it went pretty smooth over all.
From here on out, the days should start going by a bit quicker now that we will be driving alot more.
I have a bit more homework tonight on trip planning, so back to it and ill post again tomorrow.

Good luck to you as well. If you end up coming to marshfield for training, I hope you get Kevin as an instructor. Not that there is anything wrong with the other instructors, but Kevin is a pretty cool guy and has plenty of patience.. Keep us posted on how things workout for you.
