How about don't do it?

 

u don't want to do that, ur better off going to a dealership & buying a truck. u don't have the freedom that companies tell u that u will have by signing a lease purchase. if u go to them with ur own truck u can do whatever u want. if the miles slow down u can leave with the truck, if not, ur stuck there & that's just 1 of the problems u can & will have

I'm going to the same thing, I'm going to Joplin peterbilt, then lease it to werner, when I'm finish harvest season.. I'll be watching this thread

 

First remember you will be a business owner that will drive a truck. Come up with a business plan and figure out your running cost down to the mile. Do not sign the lease contract before having it reviewed by an attorney that specializes in business law. Remember you are a business man not a company driver. You will have to spend money to protect your interest. The lease agreement can screw you very quickly and might not be written in your best interest. Just read all the horror stories about people who have done the lease operator with C.R. England.
You will have to have a substantial amount of back-up cash available as well. You will be responsible for maintenance, break downs and so on. Also make sure you do understand the differences in leases. You have lots of home work to do. Do NOT get caught up by the good deal they will sell you and zero down, because if you do it wrong you will loose everything like many have before.

Remeber it is a business in case you have forgotten my first sentence already.

you ONLY THINK you are doing well. when they cut you off, to give more runs to "newer people", you will suffer as well. i do hope you have a "back up plan", like getting another job in the near future..??

this is about the better way, buy your own, and THEN lease to a company, or get your own authority.

but i wouldn't sign on with any major carrier either (or at least NOT Werner to name one), as there just has to be a more local company you can work with.

 

actually this is my 3rd lease purchase here i and have completed each succesfully with no problem

 

Come on Mike just throw us a bone. Now that you got our attention and we are all ears don't let us just hanging here. I know some companies don't like to have there stuff publicized and you may not want to out yourself. Just keep it generic if you like and tell us what worked for you and what kind of lease you are in. Any input will be appreciated and some uf us might learn something and others might even listen to some sound advise.

 

When did it become a good idea to pay a company to drive THEIR truck?
