good money there for local and i would take it in a minute.
but watch out--i seen a driver get slammed by some prime drivers for "only" grossing $900 a week or something like that for driving local 40 hrs a week--sounds like a good check to me for being home nightly.

Sometimes I make more. It depends on what type of truck I'm operating that day. Tanker, End dump, Belly dump, round bottom. Some rigs pay by the hour, some by the load. Our trucks are governed at 72. I laugh when I see a Pam truck. I get experience from operating different types of trailer all week long.

My husband just started with USA truck and got his training pay of $350.00 a week gross and he was told at orientation they guarantee the first 2 months pay to be $600 a week minimum................ do all companies do this and is this true?

Good question, but training pay is always less than he would make as a first seat driver.

He is now solo and running, got his first load Thursday and they have been running him........we understood his first paycheck would be minimum guaranteed of $600 or more if he ran more than that........seeing if anyone has knowledge on this..............

That is true, it was told to the trainers on a conference call. Of course there are some stipulations to it but it is true

Thanks Sarge, called Payroll and I understand how it works now......... they have to have some miles equiv to $300 in pay and be available, not off time, and he already met that for sure, he is def. getting the miles, just need help with his truck and not everything working. I called his fleet manager and he is going to help get it fixed, inverter and apu not working and engine light on................we are hoping he stays out 5 weeks at a time so he needs air and power! :)

I hope he has better luck with APU than I did. It only took them about 4 months to fix mine. They simply didn't want to put a alternator on it. I had an 09 Cascadia. It was broke down all the time. It was towed off of the highway 3 times.
