Hadn't posted since starting with Central 4 months ago..class..training a month solo and now owner op..been quite the run..for anyone starting out..your clock. .logs are the most important thing to learn..can be confusing. .you have 70 hours drive time in a 7 day period..hours driven roll back on the 8th day..that means are deducted off your 70 hours clock. .need a blackboard..LOL. .14 hour clock is just that from the time you log in you have 14 hours to finish your day..you will find 14 hours isn't that much when you get stuck at a shipper for 8 hours..drive time is 11 hours during your 14 hour clock. .smart driving is keeping your drive time to around 9 1/2 per day..it all comes from proper trip planning...the most boring part of class is both logs and trip planing..maybe the hardest to understand. .Don't eat your books..pay attention and ask questions

Another quick note...the seeing the country is great..here's how it works...you drive right past the places you want to stop...you stop at the places you wish you could just drive bye...pretty much how the business works..
THEPRIZEFIGHTER Thanks this. -
And half the time you won't see anything cause your driving at night.
-
your wrong.
pretrip knocks out 15 minutes right off the bat. so that leaves you only 13 3/4 hours to drive 11 hours. if you do a post trip. your now only left with 13 1/2 hours.
your correct on the break although some people will take a 2 hour break, leaving only 8 to fulfill the 10. -
it's 70 hours in EIGHT days. hours drop off on the NINTH day.
and come winter time. your doing MORE night driving. so even less daylight to see the country. -
Well now have 17days out with trainer got right at 6000 miles with a three day break down not bad I think everyone stay safe

You can do your post trip after your 14 has expired, you just can't drive. Many people on elogs only log 5 minutes for pti, so that leaves 13:55 to finish driving, after which you can do post. I got a level 1 in Cali and dot had no problem with any of this. If you live on elogs, you have to take what ever you can get. 70 hr clock is today and the previous 7, which might be what you said, but I can't wrap my head around the way you said it. When you first start the 11 is irrelevant, because you spend 3-4 hours a day at shippers and receivers, not to mention fueling. 11 only matters when you start getting long loads.
-
5 minute pre and post 5 to fuel..trip planning can dictate when you run..that's all in your control. .lots of thing You will learn yo cut times..14 is your dog...it will bite you..same with not paying attention to your hours..editing daily...3 months out never did a 34...never had a late load..work with your Dm...learn something new everyday..driving is the easy part..trip planning. .trip planning. .trip planning...be ready for slow shippers..learn 8-2 splits...line 2 on your logs can get you moving..
-
70 hours in 8 days. equals today and the previous 7.
they only look at 8 days worth of logs if your asked for them.
