Actually, going to NTTS, they DO send a recruiter there. So he should at least be able to make contact with someone. I think it might be the same woman he's been speaking to already.

I am almost done with Orientation myself and I am amazed at how good the training has been thus far. They invest a lot into their drivers. I did not expect 6 days of training before a driver test. that is more training than I received in trucking school.

I think orientation is like an accelerated trucking school lol. Its fast paced and they work with you. They let me deadhead home from Georgia to my house, 228 miles. Said they weren't gonna make me wait for the planners to find a load going south so they said go ahead and go home :)

I have just graduated from CDL school. I have a pre hire with Roehl. You are an experienced driver coming into Roehl. How do they treat the new drivers coming in with just CDL school experiences? Do they work with the new drivers with the S backing etc.? My school didn't do S backing. Only straight and alternate backing. I had no problems with the maneuvers but just no S backing. I have picked up the skills fast but just need to be taught. From what I have read so far (not including your thread) Roehl is a very fast past, no patience with newbie's and micro managed? Is this true? I would be going to Atlanta for my orientation. I just don't want to make a wasted trip for not meeting their driving standards. I welcome all the other testing.

Not sure where you read that. Everything I've read about Roehl suggests that they are a very good choice for newbies. They will probably expect you to act like a professional, pay attention, take the program seriously and give it your best effort. They know you are there to learn, they expect you to make mistakes. They want you to show continuous progress so they know you're learning. Just keep your wits about you & don't get too nervous. Your jitters are natural, just don't let them get the best of you. Enjoy your experience. I'm sure you'll do fine.

I came to roehl fresh out of school. They work with you on everything
You mainly do alley dock backing.

I got into an accident my first week on the job and I'm still here. To me that says a lot about the company.

They have patience for newbies and yes its fast paced. If your a quick learner then you'll do fine. You'll get practice from instructors in orientation and while out on the road with your trainer. I'm from central FL and went to ellenwood for orientation everything with instructors and trainers were really cool.

Just dont do anything unsafe and you will do fine. I had an ok time, they are nice people and it goes by pretty quick and soon you will be in your own truck.

Lol, sorry about the werner thing... I to went with Werner cause I thought it was my only option to get some experience after being out of school for a year. That was the worst experience of my life. Keep it real and keep on trucking
