Found that lots of drivers are unaware of a great way to get started with little to no experience but the most I found was 1 year to start.Of course veteran drivers are more than welcome. These are driver temp companies that offer many different types of clients from tanker to wide loads. Many of these pay great and lead to permanent jobs later. Also gives drivers an idea of what is out there and the great local and routes some offer.
    A few are:
    Driver Staff
    Drivers Management
    Accura drivers
    Belton drivers
    Pro Drivers
and even a pay by the day company called Labor ready offers good positions.
Check your area listings for these if interested.

In the Philadelphia, PA. area, I have dealt with a place called Mercer Staffing. No relation to the flatbed trucking company. They got me a job in one day, paying $15.50 an hour to start. After 30 days, the place I was being sent to offered me $25.50 an hour, if they hired me directly. The only problem I had was I couldn't do the job properly. I'm going on 50, and can hustle with the best of them out there, but going up and down the loading ramp, delivering paper products to food places, was not going to last long for me. My muscles could take it, but my knees were paying a heavy toll. I was just there till I had a better offer come through, which took about a month and a half.

It was a good experience in general, but that was about 6 years ago. They were located just outside of Philly, toward the Valley Forge area, but I heard they moved into the city a while back. Overall, a good place to deal with.
