I guess the difference is that Im not going to judge someone. Thats not for me to do. If he is lying just to be lying, he will have to answer to the man upstairs, not me.
The biggest thing that sticks out in my mind is he said that he got a new truck at JCT but y'all were all so quick to point out that is was a used truck with 50,000 miles or whatever it was. Sorry, but when it is common for trucks to go well over a million miles, 50,000 is a drop in the bucket and I would call it a new truck as well. Hell, my finish trainer had a new Freightliner with 17,000 miles on it when I got on his truck but I guess thats old.
Im sure that y'all will be quick to point out his other "mistruths" though.
Since Flight is no longer in this forum and we are all supposedly adults here, why cant we just stop discussing him and move on?

Why don't receiving appointments get changed?
There are two reasons.
First, and foremost, it is a time consuming and drawn out process for many receivers. Time is one thing there is not an abundance of in that department.
Second, the time taken to change an appointment can be better used to answer customer emails, build loads, answer phones, track problems and repower loads.
Let me give you an example we all have dealt with: Walmart.
If a Walmart load has to be changed, it requires the person to go into the WM scheduling site and remove the confirmed appointment. Even if that appointment was yesterday it remains on the account and you can't change anything without this being removed.
Then you must go to another part of the site and request a new appointment. Appointments are 3 days out (sometimes more). Well if you're hauling produce (which is what we haul the most for Walmart), you can't wait 3 more days.
Since we can't wait, we now have to contact the DC where we need the new appointment (by phone). More often than not, they don't answer the phone, we leave a message and wait for a call back. Most DC's will call back within an hour. Then the appointment is made.
This is a time consuming process.
If you're running ahead of schedule you just don't take priority. So learn to use the repower board to your advantage. Works for everybody that way.
Every person in the dispatch department has 20% more work to do than they have time. Stevens works with the Sam Walton theory of asset management. So we are forced to make choices based on priority.
Tyson is a big shipper. They take priority over most other loads. So if we have a meat load running late, we have to secure that problem before we can worry about a driver that has too much time on their load.
Unfortunately, as a training company, we have lots of drivers that make mistakes, or just plain don't do their job well and that creates lots of problems.
So if you are proactive and call the dispatchers before you start your day, you can often secure a repower to your advantage. The dispatchers love you.
I know we often think "Why would another driver take my load with two extra days?"
Well if they're running late, they have no choice. Often the problem of running late isn't because they're late out of the shipper, but because they don't have enough hours to make it.
So that extra time gets a reset or a breather to get hours back.
And that's why appointments don't change easily.TRKRSHONEY and moonshadow Thank this. -
Thanks Emul, your posts are very informative and gives us an insight into the inner workings & non-workings of a trucking company, very much appreciated.
TRKRSHONEY and nascarchuck Thank this. -
Don't see how it's judging when I heard it out of his mouth, then read something different on here, but that's neither here nor there. A truck with 50,000+ miles has obviously been assigned to and driven by another driver therefore is not new. Your finish trainer probably got his truck with 1,000mi or less and had put the rest on it, therefore it was new.
I simply resonded to another post on a PUBLIC FORUM, and you decided to jump on the FLIGHTWATCH DEFENSE TEAM, attacking the post and my response. YOU are the one not letting things drop and stirring up the #####. If you simply kept your comments to yourself, we would have made our comments and it would all be over with, so take a note from your own book.
Don't know if you ever met Flight, but I did, so I can truthfully make comments about him.
Now, I'm done with my rant, but rest assured, I WILL comment when I KNOW that someone is on here lying!!! That is one thing I will NOT tolerate.Last edited: Aug 12, 2012

So, I attacked you in my reply? Wowser... A bit sensitive arent we??? That was no where close to an "attack"!
Im glad that you have given us your definition of what a new truck is. This will help in future discussions.
So, you are telling me that you are entitled to your comments but I cant voice mine? And all along I though this was a "public forum". Maybe you forgot your comment so soon.
You met Flight once so you know all about him and that gives you the right to degrade him? Typical... Once again I dont judge people.
Oh, I KNOW that YOU will throw your two cents worth in as usual. But then again, in YOUR words, this is a public forum and you have the right to do so. -
harassing you ??? it was one pm, toughen up cowboy.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

It was actually two PM's. I dont appreciate you PM'ing me calling me names, telling me to bite you and telling me what I will have to assume is to f off since what you wrote ended up as #### off #####.
