Lets start a thread on carrying guns in the cab~
-
That's it, 2 demerits for notarps.
-
It would be one thing having a firearm in a vehicle, but it's a completely different situation to take one across the border into another country. Especially Canada. They have a whole new way of thinking regarding firearms, from what I've seen. I had a friend that always had one in the cab and went to the border. He declared it, and they held it until his return trip. I don't know if that's the norm or not, but I wouldn't want to find out the hard way.

I was gonna start a new thread about guns in the cab, but NoTarps would have gotten too excited.

Maybe we should all have tasers to play with and be trained with a perment

I think if we we're aloud to have a hand gun, or some other weapon atleast in our cabs, then we wouldn't see as many violent stories, like the one where they trucker got beaten when he found someone stealing from his fuel tank..... And who hasn't heard stories of people throwing stuff off bridges at a truck driver?
If we were aloud to have something like that, then no one would even think to steal our fuel. We are defenseless and the public knows it, and that makes us vunerable.
I am not some crazed vigilante or anything, I just think that it's are god given american right to bear arms.... wait, that's in the constitution.... but I guess the constitution doesn't apply to us? People want their goods delivered, they just don't want those of us who do the grunt work of delivering it, to be safe in the process.
lmao, maybe we should do like they did in the old day, when they delivered things via horses and wagons.... and have an extra person just to hold the shot gun. hahahahahahahaha Ok, I was just joking there, but seriously, we should have the same rights under the constitution as everyone else. Granted the guy that tried to go across the border with one..... well, I don't know what their constitution says. lol

How is this justification for carrying a gun in your truck? Even if you were allowed to carry, you would not be legally justified in firing at a person throwing things from an overpass. The simple fact that you'd have to bring your truck to a stop, run back to the overpass, and hunt the culprit down completely removes any claim of self-defense. You can only fire on a person in self-defense if you're in immediate/imminent threat of bodily harm.
You may feel you're in the right, but the legal system isn't based on emotions. -
do you guys listen to the freakin CB!!!!!!!!! no way in hell i want drivers (more than already are ilegally) carrying guns!!!!
-
First off think about it.... I am not justifying shooting someone. But people don't mess with people if they think that they have a weapon. People mess with people that are defenseless. It's a psychological thing. I never once said shoot at anyone. I don't carry, and I don't plan on it, but if we were aloud to, as is stated by our constitution, then people would be much less likely to do stupid stuff against truckers. Think about it.

hahahahaha Yeah, there are some pretty angry people on the radio, but I think they are mostly just bored, so they get on there and pick a fight.
But this is what I am more or less trying to get across...... People are less likely to rob someones house if they think they are in it, and armed correct? I don't want a bunch of truckers with guns either, but I want that right. After all it is in our constitution. Why do I want that right? Not to carry a weapon, but so that the idiots that throw stuff off bridges, or try to steal our diesel will think before they do stuff like that. Not that anyone is going to, or should shoot at someone because they dropped a mailbox or something on us, even if that almost killed us..... But the point is, people don't mess with someone they consider to be possibly armed..... people mess with the defenseless. Right now, because we are denied the constitutional right to bear arms, we are the defenseless.
I am not saying pack a gun, I am just saying, people wouldn't mess with us, if we were aloud to, because then we wouldn't be defenseless. It's a psychological thing.
