Watch out for guys parked in the grass at truck stops. They are likely calling dibs on the next open spot.

Dont think more is better.... more speed, more weight, more miles, more TRUCKS! its all in the risk vs return, seldom is the risk worth the return.

My dad was in trucking back in the mid 50`s, My uncle also. I got taught everything through them, as I took my first steps inside a big truck. I excelled very well, we were not under a lot of pressure, Keeping our equipment in top shape was the goal. I wanted to make as much MONEY as possible. Each year got better and better. Advice to myself, NEVER EVER MISS WORK. In 38 years of Trucking, I missed less than 1 week, Sick, Sick as heck. I wish I would have NEVER missed 1 Day of Trucking. I watched my Dad, NO MATTER what, he went to work, NEVER did I see him stay home, or complain, Saying "Ah, I dont feel like going in today". He never said that. I have seen my Dad go to work, Crawling, Sicker than heck, BUT WENT TO WORK. I followed in his steps, Thank GOD, my health was good.

being that sick puts lives at risk...If I am to sick to get out of bed, I am to sick to drive a big rig and risk my life and other drivers on the road
