The problem with any defensive weapon which requires a good hard swing in order to be effectively put to use is that you are in tight quarters inside the truck. A good swing is not really going to be possible with a ball bat.

Thats why the thumpers are great. The ones sold at truck stops for about $20. Use them to check tires and they are nice and short with a weighted end.

If they want it that bad then they can have it if they have a gun or something life threatening. If they dont have a weapon in close quarters of my truck that I'm in day in and day out and theyre not familiar with then theyd should expect a beating. So weapon you can have the truck have fun crashing it on the way out, if not then its you and me buddy and my tire thumper, I guarentee you I wont be just one hit and quit type situation. Just starting out trying to provide for my family in tight financial times as it is good luck. Im a company man so like i said life threatening you can take the truck, if not then youll be peppered by the time you get in the seat. I dont carry a gun or am I a big guy but if is even odds I'm not backing down for no one.

I really never gave it much thought. Never really heard of any problems with all those trucks on the road every day.

First and foremost,, Make sure you keep both doors Locked at all times,,,Even when going down the road and have to stop at a Red light, Someone may try to get in...Also,,, when you get ready to go to bed,,, In some trucks, you may be able to run the seat belt around the inside door handle a couple of times and then buckle it..Do both sides that way.....Also,, I have worked at companies that don't even want you to carry mace...It can be dangerous to go to a rest area restroom...some people carry a small can of wasp spray that you can spray in someones eyes....

I don't do anything that I don't do at home.

    I lock my doors.
If anyone tries to break in a locked truck, you will hear it and probably feel it.

But I've never had any problem out here.

Mace or pepper spray inside a truck is a bad idea. Why take the chance of incapacitating yourself? I got a nice little stun thing from the gift shop in the Giant Pilot on I-40 in NM. Keeping in mind they're a felony possession in NY state.

What will you do if you wake up to a truck fire and both of your doors are obstructed? Just a thought.
