Nope...wasn't me...I left Carlisle, PA last Friday with a load of small tractors and haven't been back that way since....spent all this past week in SD, IA, MN, then ended up here in GA for the weekend...getting an excavator Monday but don't know yet where its going to (last one went to San Antonio)
I'm in 1 of the 2 orange trucks (old Schneider truck...56008 )...theres not much new to post really...
A few pages back I mentioned that I was gonna try to run pretty hard this year so I could pay off some bills...its the end of July...and I've been home 3 times since January 1st. I have 8 days scheduled off starting 8/31 (scouting)...then 2 months until Thanksgiving (deer season...11 days off), then 3 weeks until Christmas (more deer hunting...10 days off)
My plan has worked pretty good so far...I'm thinking I may do this for a few more years...
Looks like I'm going back to Specialized...

I got moved back to hauling combines today...will be on my way to Oregon tomorrow...life is good.
-
Loaded a combine in Grand Island, NE yesterday morning, made it to Wamsutter, WY yesterday...and ended up in Baker City, OR tonight...got here with a whole 3 minutes of driving time left, good thing that last 10 miles was all downhill...1,170 miles in 2 days...will deliver it tomorrow around noon in Hillsboro, OR then run over to Wasco, OR (130 miles) and load another combine Saturday morning and be on my way to North Souix City, SD...probably won't be able to get past Spokane with it until Monday due to a detour across ID and western MT...the detour is restricted to weekdays only...I'm gonna need a restart before I get back to SD anyway, only have 34 hours left on my 70.[

Good runs there!

Didn't get my permits today...that doesn't happen often...but it does happen.
Stuck for the weekend in Biggs, OR. -
Glad to hear your plans are working out for you. Your better man than I I don't think I can handle being gone that long anymore. Maverick is Very lucky to have a driver like you. My friend Bill switched over to your division this summer he still adjusting. LOL
Ridgerunner665 Thanks this. -
I know of Bill...but haven't met him yet...we're a pretty tight group here in MSO (not snobby, but we HAVE TO share information....routes, restrictions, changes in the laws as we find them out, helping each other with new stuff another may not have hauled, etc.)...but it takes a while sometimes to meet the new guys.
It is an adjustment...getting used to things here, especially out here hauling combines. The combines are a whole nuther ball game when compared to our other account.
They keep moving me back and forth between the 2 accounts, LOL...about the time I get settled into one something happens (another driver wants to switch, or is having problems otherwise) and they move me.
I can and will work on either account...I prefer the combines though...but because of where I live they have tried their best to keep me on the other account (CNH). I'm told I'll be hauling combines at least through October this round...maybe a bit longer.
Just call me the "Jack of all trades, master or none...LOL....all that moving back forth kinda pissed me off at first, but I finally realized that all 12 of us would be better off if we just rolled with whatever Maverick needed us to do...so thats what I do...
I make some really good money most of the time...but it requires some sacrifice...and just so nobody gets the wrong impression of me, I do this for me and my family....not Maverick.
About 8 of these 12 guys have met me...2 of them know me well, we were doing this when we were still Schneider, one of them is one of the best friends I have in the world...any of them will tell you I ain't no "company man", LOL...as would any fleet manager I've ever had. I go out of my way to be easy to work with...but in the end...its all about taking care of my family.
Maverick takes care of me and my family...so I take care of Maverick to the best of my abilities.Last edited: Aug 19, 2012

You guys are a elite group. I would rather run a combine then haul one. I hope you get your new truck soon. It just amazes me sometimes how they treat you guys like a redheaded stepchild.
Drive safe, have fun and enjoy the ride. -
A guy told me via email the new trucks are being ordered...I won't mention any names...but this "guy" should know
...yeah, we are kinda the last to get anything new but it was that way with Schneider too...other than that, we are treated pretty darn good.
Thanks dude...its not just a job...its an adventure, LOL. -
I know what you are talking about. For the last two months I've been doing a lot of fill it work on several dedicated accounts. Some I like some I don't care for but I'll always do what's asked of me. Some might say I am a company suck. But I'll just say no a good employee my job is to do with my employer needs. That's why they pay me to do it.
As I like to say when maverick asked me to do something I always say no problem. And when I asked maverick for something they always say no problem. It works pretty well since we don't ask each other for much. LOL
