Yes sir, I drove for Schneider National and CR England for a total of about a year and a half OTR Exp. But I am still learning everyday! I hope I can make Prime my last switch, I'd really like to find somewhere I can stay at. The last two companies weren't horrible, but they weren't for me. I know that it takes alot of self discipline to be successful, it's not just on the company the driver has to put his half in too, so here's hoping!

This is the most impatient group of people I've ever seen. These guys get to a room and have to wait 10 minutes for the door to open or get sent somewhere to wait 30 minutes and their world comes to an end. Lol. I wonder how they're going to last 20 hours at a shipper? I keep saying you'll have to wait at times on the road a day or more. They're quick to tell me that we have appointment times so you don't have to wait. Lol. I guess this is my first soapbox moment.

It's been hectic, but I wanted to update everyone in my downtime at Tyson. Before I was even cleared Friday, I got a call from my instructor. I got cleared around noon Friday and got over to millineum. Met my trainer. He's 6'6" and a big guy like me. He's very clean hygiene and in the truck which I love. Non smoker. Patient laid back. Been with the company for 9 years and I'm his 53rd student. I feel like I've hit the lotto. Everything is great on the road. I love it out here. Driving wise.... On the upside, I have good lane control, up shift is smooth, Pretrip is learned on my forth day. Downsides.... My downshifting sucks and if I get nervous downshifting in a turn or right before I try and swing too close. We left Springfield and went to Wisonsin with a load he picked up in Arkansas, got a load out of Wisconsin to Atlanta and now we are outside a Tyson waiting on some chicken! I think we are going to call it a night though.

Sorry it's been a while since I've updated! I've been on the truck 10 days and all is still going great! I got the Pretrip down in the first week and in these 10 days I've driven 48 hours. Up and down shifting is getting better, my instructor says its good enough to pass but I can't wait until I can down shift smooth like him. I rev too much! We've been really hitting backing for the last three days. Straight line and a 45 is going good. We haven't had a big enough space to offset or parallel, we're still hoping to run across a spot when we have time so it doesn't all have to be done on the yard. I am a little nervous about the next phase though, I tried to sleep for two hours while he drove and got motion sick, any suggestions on how to get that under control would be very much appreciated.

    123456 Thanks this.

I used to get car sick all the time... I joined the Navy and went Submarines. I was sick the first day at sea... Only one time after that in some really rough seas on the surface. Never again got car sick.

Its probably a little too late or extreme to try my cure.
