Had my interview this morning for a tanker position in Reserve, LA any other drivers on here willing to share knowledge on what to expect.

    What is the next step?

Do new drivers get decent equipment?

What is the road to home rotation like?

    Where will I travel too?

    RoadMaster Jacksonville

I first got my Prehire from Werner but after hearing the horror stories about Werner I went on and selected Con-way because you get paid .26 cent and extra $ for being a vet but I learn that that your miles are limited due to 3-5 students per cabs, so I decided to try Schneider a try, went to their website applied for Regional out of Jax "where I live" ,1 to 1 Ratio for student/trainer and 5 on 2 off.

RoadMaster Jacksonville got me in the door with Werner and Con-Way was done on my own.

I am new to the commercial trucking industry. I have been driving for the military for the last 7 years, I have my cdl but I never had to follow the same guidelines as you guys do (ie. not required to have cdl, hazmat endorsment or require permits for loads). I am now trying to transition out of the military and possible go orange. I already took he step of getting my cdl, and I did a DOT physical with my Army Doc. My question is now, Is the physical that Schneider does the same as the DOT physical? And have any one of you transitioned out of the military into the Commercial market. If so, do you have any tips, or pointers that may help me out. Thank You

    Jlgale,
The Schneider physical is a dot physical took it yesterday. BP eyes ear check, a few bending/ reaching movments, nothing too crazy. Urine and hair folicle drug test. They also offer GI bill apprenticeship program, and in a brochure I saw something about military credit for previous truck driving experience in the military. I would ask the recruiter. If you get on the website click on anything that mentions military.
