Finally know what we are doing at least...
Pick up tomorrow morning 4AM PD in Blythe and going to Dallas. -
TransCore posted a 7% increase in dry van last month. So YES freight is picking up.
Up 2% from July last year.
Freight volums and trends are not a Dailey accurance.
Just because one company is slow does not effect an entire industry.
Sorry if I wasn't more clear.paul_4lp Thanks this. -
not sure where you heard about freight being on an uptick but as far as i can tell the company that supposedly said its up is also saying it has dropped month over month by almost 1/4 ** of the entire market for general freight. but im just going off of their "Freight Trend of The Month" I understand you are talking about Dry Van numbers but that would mean flat bed and refer combined lost 1/3 (31%) of ALL their freight. In short if we are looking at an industry overview logistics/transportation just took a swift kick to the groin last month to the tune of 24% less loads available, paired with the fact truck capacity stayed the same that means the equation would be (Less Loads) + (Same number of trucks)=(cheap rates conway wont want to pull and we will sit more) Also, remember TransCore tracks spot loads/prices not contracts so its not even a great judge of freight for many larger retailers that use larger companies on multi-quarter contracts. TransCore is more of a bellwether for how bad an O/O can expect to get screwed depending on the region he is in.

Not to mention it has been stated that freight crossing into the US from other markets is down to the failing world economy.
got the relay replaced earlier and also got the new clearance lights (dealer only item) ended up taking a couple of hours since I was unable to go get them myself. total PITA. i wish truckstops would start carrying more...umm TRUCK PARTS!!! ### "travel center bs! -
