Nothing strenous about setting frac tanks. It's hook n go, or drop n go. Most winch truck drivers that I've seen, are typically "combo" drivers. They haul frac tanks when needed, and then also do some tanker yankin (water, crude, etc) when needed.

The winch truck work mentioned is what we do at Key but it can vary depending on what outfit your with. You do have to monitor the hoses but in -50 -60 wind chills you will be getting in the truck to warm up quickly and then back out. At no point was I miserable in the winter

They may not be as worried about hazmat spills up there. You know, if a hose broke, or a gasket were missing, it wouldn't take 10 minutes to have a devastating environmental hazard- at least as far as the company, the government, and the clean up operation go. That was always a dilemna for me. It can be miserable outside, and you know nothing is likely to go wrong, but man, turn your back at the wrong moment, and... Now, I don't know the winch truck, if it's just water, who cares? Hazmat, particularly in an urban setting...no, not good.

NoDak Slowed down for me since I've been there. I wasn't making the money I used to make. I used to bring in $3500 easily one week hauling crude. Companies used to pay for my flights in and out and my housing. I can't get any of that now. Maybe we were spoiled when there was much more demand for drivers. Now I'm in Texas and I'm loving it so far. Everything is just cheaper here. When I first came into texas, I came in blind. I got offered a job and just drove down to texas straight from ND. After one week I realized the guy that promised me so many things LIED about so many things. He said one thing, then once I was away from ND, he told me a whole different story. He sold me pretty good and got me down to texas. But that didn't stop me. I applied with other companies, talk to other drivers, see if their was something better out there. Within 3 days I landed another job. Something more promising. My first week paycheck was a few dollars short of $3000. But I was running my ### off. Company said they'll pay me hourly and let me run! SO I RAN! STRAIGHT TO THE BANK! They pay me per diem and for my housing! Since I been here I already called two of my buddies in ND. They just made it to texas this week. So far they have no complaints. RUNNING RUNNING RUNNING just like I was, trying to make up for lost time in ND.Wildflower and larrytrucker Thank this.

Hey you all, Greetings.... A few weeks ago I posted to you all I had a great gig coming up driving for a contractor hauling crude. Well, Apparently the contractor changed his mind and doesnt want to hire me any longer.. I dont know why. He wont say, only says "Its not me, Its his company"..... But his boss says otherwise.... Sounds fishy but his loss cause I am a worker. Anyways, I am looking to haul crude. Ive got quite a bit of Fuel, Cryo gas Tankers experience and snow experience. Any of you out there know any contacts who are looking for hard workers? I am hauling water right now but thats not where I want to be money wise. Thank you all for the tips.... God Bless
