    Hey all,
I am looking to get with Schneider as well when I get out of school. My questions are these.

    1. Are there miles to keep you running with Schneider? My goal when I get out of school is
3000+ miles a week. Is this possible?

    2. Home time, if your on the road and request home time, say 3 weeks into your runs, will
Schneider get you back, say within the week?

    3. Pay issues. The biggest complaints I have had from people, were getting on with companies
and having problems getting paid, or mistakes on your paycheck. Have you ever had any of
    that drama?

    4. When are paydays? Every 2 weeks, every month?

    5. Idling. I have heard that Schneider doesn't allow they're drivers to idle when stopping for
whatever and it's 100 degrees outside, or 10 degrees below zero.

    6. How do you like your dispatchers? Are they friendly, do you work well together with them
    or...?

    7. Getting acclimated to trucking. Are they there for you or...?

Thanks in advance! I truly appreciate the advice.

One thing I will say is that you should not get hung up on the total miles per week. Look at the average the company is saying you will get and then the entire pay package to get what your average PAY will be. Some companies offer 3,000 miles a week but pay 25 cents/mile while another may pay .41/mile but only get 2,000 miles average.

The big pumpkin has bunk heaters so u dnt have to wrry about idling during winter months, I was dedicated Costco in atl and run between 1800 - 2200 a week..got home every other day.I heard some like it over the road some dnt. Trucks are kinda on the crap end..if u plan on trucking for the rest of ur life pumpkin will fit u and ur needs

Keep your day job, and good luck there all the same for the most part.

    1. it is possible to do 3000 miles a week, but you proly won't on a regular basis, I would shoot to average about 2600.

    2. They like to have your time at home request at least one week prior to going home, 10 days preferable, so they can plan a load to get you there, expecially if you don't live somewhere with a lot of freight.

    3. Very rarely have problems with my pay, and if I do, a quick phone call and it is fixed asap.

    4. Payday is every Friday.

    5. You can idle all you want young buck. However, if your percentage is to high, you lose your bonus. If it is over 90 you won't get dinged for idling.

    6. Dispatchers are hit or miss, my first one sucked, after an intervention with the big boss, I got a new one and it has been smooth sailing since.

    7. Probably one of the best companies for a newbie to start at, they will help you as much as you let them.

    Hope that helps.

that helps jakecat22! @Powder Joints I am a 40 year old waiter, it is depressing. I need to get my #### together. My step dad hauled for groendyke so i got to go on runs with him when i was a kid, was with U.S freight before that... my step dad made good money doing trucking in the 80's. I remember, he used to have at least 5k laying around, with a bought house and 2 cars. Although i know everything is totally different today in the industry.

bonus is more than just idle.

Idle, overspeed, oor miles and eta/etd accuracy.

If you make your bonus for the quarter, it is .02cpm driven for the quarter.
