I managed to obtain my cdl. I'm 25 and just got a new job at a local small company which will be mostly moving loads out of the Elizabeth seaport.
Start training on Monday with a 10 speed international while I wait for a twic card that is required by the seaport.
Well that's me and I hope to learn a lot from this forum.

hey anses how pulln the ports. Ive truckn in jersey for 8 years never did ports. i know must of them are behind ikea back there. i got my sealink signed onto a company but then he told be the hourly pay i was like what!!! so i dindt even bother with him. plenty of local peirs jobs around but i have no interest in driving a ####### around all day working for anything other then hourly

Right, I wouldn't know about hourly rates because this is my first job and I'm gonna be paid a fixed price per-haul depending on empty or loaded.
I'm gonna be driving somebody else's truck and he pays half of the gas and all the tolls.
So it's kind of complicated to know exactly the salary here because is proportional to the amount of jobs assigned daily.
Just today I've been notified my twic is ready and this week hopefully the company could get me the sealink too.
