Vac trucks can be used to suck a very wide variety of substances. The only limitations are strong acids, strong bases and stuff that explodes when sucked. Vac trucks are often used to suck benign fluids such as oily water or crude oil that has made it's way to the wrong location. Sometimes vac truck operators may have to enter vessels that contain extremely hazardous materials or the residue of extremely hazardous materials. Personal protective equipment such as supplied air and positive-pressure suits may be required. The biggest hazard to vac truck operators are contractors who consider vac truck operators to be consumables. A lot of money can be saved by disregarding the life expectancy of the vac truck operator. Be aware. Stop the job if you are not sure you have been completely informed by all parties involved.

Do not underestimate the effect of the noise from a vac truck. It is an occupational hazard that limits the length of that career. Some vac truck jobs have more noise exposure than others.

I just spoke with a potential employer about driving water truck making ice roads. The problem is the job doesn't start for several months. I would like to get going in a few weeks and build on what I have learned so far. But it sounds like a great job for a greenhand. Its a camp job as well.

Actually - in reviewing this post - I find NOTHING, myself anyway, that would indicate the author is an immigrant. Anybody else ? If anything, I'd say it was a typo rush job.
