    Hello,
Looking at USX and had a few quetions I was hoping to get answered. I went on "live chat" this morning with their recruiter and they were not of much help. I'm still on active duty in the military for about 9 more months and researching different companies.
    1) I live in the Houston area, closest terminal is in Dallas, how would that work, take home truck I assume?
    2) What type of runs and time out can I expect in this area? I'm looking for something that would get me home on weekends.
    Thanx

Probably not gonna happen with Any OTR job. You need to be realistic about what you want to do. If that is a big priority you should probably limit yourself to local jobs.

    1) Yes, you take the truck home.

    2) Not going to happen with OTR. Expect to be out at least four weeks.

I drive for USX and I agree, not going to be home weekends OTR. You may find a USX dedicateed job that is home weekends. Just know that dedicated usually means much more manual labor. Check with Schnieder and Marten. Both advertise they have lots of regional or dedicated runs that get home weekly.

Also many flatbedders get home on weekends.

Texas, particularly the irving yard has many dedicated accounts that run out of it. And if you land one you have a fair shot at getting home on weekends or possibly nightly depending on the runs. You may have to run otr for a few months until a run opens up for you though. Good luck! There's a whole department for dedicated accounts you can talk to once you get on board though!

    NoCoCraig Thanks this.

SynCity is correct, I know we have the Family Dollar account that they were just looking for drivers in Houston and Denver. That is home every week
