I thought I had seen in earlier posts about break down pay...would someone refresh my memory on the amount and what the requirements are in order to receive this please? I am wondering because in my job now my truck has been down since Thursday night and I am sitting at home once again today not making a dime. Freaking inside wheel seals.

Maverick's is $88 per 24 hours. I'm not sure but I think that if we are home while the truck is broke, then we wouldn't get breakdown pay. Don't qoute me on that.

I broke down in Springfield, Mo which was 60 miles from my house. They paid me 4 days breakdown pay and gave me $120 gas money for my wife to come pick me up and take me home for the 4 days and then bring me back. They put this on my next check without me even asking. Pretty cool I thought.

Well, got a call from Adam today. No TCD opening for next week, unless someone cancels.

Going to shoot for the following week.

Going to sit back, enjoy the time off and pester the wife. She will be glad when I finally go. :biggrin_25523:

I'm in berne, in at an Amish lumber yard, gonna be interesting to see how they unload me seeing how they don't believe in forklifts....

I bet they use a forklift :) I unloaded hay at an old order amish farm in Lancaster,Pa and he used a Komatsu forklift to take the bales off my trailer and put them on a horse drawn flatbed.

I'm thinking a rope & pulley system attached to an old sturdy oak in the mid day sun working up a thirst that could only be quenched by a tall glass of Lemonaid . . Yeah, prolly a forklift.

I am hoping to get on with Maverick. I am a recent graduate from Roadmaster and I have been pre-approved but I need to provide proof of the two times I received unemployment over the last three years. I have been waiting for the unemployment office to mail (they can't fax or e-mail them) these forms to me for a week and when I opened my mail today they had only sent the proof for one of the times I was unemployed. Enough with my rant about the unemployment office. I am really excited to start my career and am praying that I start out with a company I will want to stay with for a long time.

Could someone please tell me what short mile pay is and how often it happens? I spoke with a recruiter but forgot to ask about it. Thank you.
