I second that motion, i use www.uship.com for get cars to fill out my truck for my car hauling business. There are a lot of brokers on there now too, but you can usually tell them apart from individuals or smaller companys like mine by looking up their info when they place a bid, just click on their icon to check them out. You can also ask a member of www.centraldispatch.com which is one of the main car hauling load boards, to list your truck on that board for you, and see what happens. I think if you would list it for around .75 to $1.00 per mile you could get some one on it pretty quickly.

I work up in the Tacoma area a lot and we ship a lot of cars to Alaska. The two companies you want to call are TOTE and Horizon Lines. Both work out of the Port of Tacoma and both ship to Anchorage. I don't know what the exact rate is but it should be around $1000 or so. With fuel prices fluctuations you would need to call to get an exact rate. They put your truck on a boat up to Alaska and since they are in Tacoma they are close enough that you can drop the vehicle of at their facilities.

I hope this helps. By the way, what kind of quotes were you getting to ship you vehicle?

I have been getting quotes from 2k-3500 to ship it up.. Last time I shipped a vehicle from Fairbanks to Tacoma it ran me 900 but northbound is always much more expensive.

It probably would be cheaper to just drive it up then. If you have the time that is.

25th ID (L) 11'bang bang' veteran here... 2004-2005 Iraq Tour "First Elections in Mosul"

Meat & Potatoes = $1860 from port in Seattle to port in Anchorage with a real decent outfit based in AK. I've used them a lot in the past shipping fellow service members and veterans & I would gladly help you make the arrangements.

I hope this note finds you well, and thanks for serving!
