a gps tracker to turn on only when payment isnt made and a eobr are two totally different issues. the issue with eobr isnt the tracking or logs, it is the economic costs to a one truck operation. and you do know the logs can be edited back at the offic like any other log dont you?

buy here pay here dealers actually go a step further than simply deactivating the car by remote. there is at least one where you pay weekly, fail to pay and you dont get the new code for the next week rendering the car unstartable.

THAT is why I couldnt find it in GA. :/

the ones in ga closed, a #### shame.

I hear the argument that it's cost, but like most things, once required and deployed it will get cheaper, thereby invalidating the argument. J.J. Keller's EOBR costs $99.00 until 9/30/12 and a monthly subscription fee of 6.50 per driver per month for the Compliance package. If I was the guy arguing the point before a judge, that's the example system I'd use, that would make a judge laugh at an industry argument of cost being an issue.
Yes, I'm sure they can be edited, but believe me when I tell you there is most likely an audit trail made when you do. If something happens and those logs don't agree or an attorney gets the systems logs, there will be heck to pay.Last edited: Jul 22, 2012

Update on tracking device........I ran into te salesman that sold me my truck at a gas station today. We got to talking and I ask him about the device. He informed my that he was the one to put in on the truck per the request of the financial institute. He also said that I signed a form agreeing to it. I guess I need to start reading the fine print.
CAXPT and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Thanks for that update Super Trucker, I like to see follow-ups so we know for sure about things that come up for discussion. Yeah, no offense, but it is called fine print for a reason, they try to prevent you from seeing it.
