I don't know what to tell you. Maybe I could email the recruiter that visited our school for a clarification, if you like.

The interesting thing is, I live on a street inside the city limits of Vancouver, where the zoning is residential on one side & industrial park type businesses on the other. Trucks park regularly on that side of the street, & the same day that May recruiter talked to us, darned if ther wasn' t a bobtail May truck parked at the end of the street. I think it was there the next morning when I drove out before 6 am.

It is the first & only time I have ever seen a May truck iny area, so maybe it was a special circumstance. Didn't mean to "start something"--just passing along what I understood from what was said by rep.

no clue, i asked my DM she said she didn't see why it would be a problem, so I submitted my time off request saying time off at MTYOLO insted of MTDEN in the comment section, its just for a weekend so we'll see if they write back saying anything

Yolo is fine. I have a friend that lives near the Lodi Flying J and they wont allow here park there during her time off. Instead, they make her drive all the way from Yolo for her time off near Lodi.

When I worked for May, I had to leave the truck & trailer in Brooks and drive over 2 hrs south to do my "home time". In a chevy truck, the fuel costs added up.

I ran the 48 which pretty much precluded me from traveling south of Brooks towards home. Whenever I did, I'd just stop at home and park in my 125' long driveway in the country anyways. You'd be surprised how many drivers there take the trucks & trailers home :)

Yeah, moving up to the Portland area. Buying on the Washington side, better tax situation; then just roll over the bridge for sales tax savings. I figure I'll probably save around $6k+ a year in taxes. Besides, I prefer the Northwest, and my family is in Seattle. Was gonna sell the house in Fairfax, but I think I'll just rent it out for now and use that money to buy another property. It's so cheap in the Clark county area!!! A $500k house there would be a $4mil house in Marin, especially with the acreage they come with up there...

They're gonna have to let me park in Jubitz, either the yard or the truck stop. I'm done burning tons of gas for long round-trips. Especially now that I have a V-8 BMW...:yes2557:

    Hi Spokester,
Good luck with your relocation plans.

I live in the area you indicated that you plan to move to. If you dont already have someone up here that can give you background info about Clark County, and surrounding area, send me a PM & I will do my best to give info, or refer you to a local who can. I have been in this area over 40 years, & lived on both sides of the Columbia River.

I know all about it. We used to live in Petaluma and I worked the 101 from Novato to Tiburon. Left 23 years ago for Oregon. Best move I've ever made.

i just LOOOOOVE racing from a cosg to the next shipper to make it on time and then sitting here waiting over 2 hours and still not on a dock....
whats even better is like 10 trucks showed up about 20 minutes ago and all went straight in to load. because theres nothing I would rather do that spend 2+ hours in rush hour traffic in New Jersey on a friday evening

I'm sure the fiasco yesterday with the pay had some very happy people today. they didn't deposit the money onto the comdata cards until like 4pm, which for my bank is after the deadline, so I didnt get my money in my bank account, SOOO it gets to sit in space until tuesday I guess. they really are making it more tempting for me to tell them to shove it and leave
