How much for truck? average runs between $90,000 on up depending on the configuration.
Is this a GOLD PLATED truck ????

Now if you're going to purchase a new one....whole different story, guess they might start at $90,000 and go up. Bought on last year 2006 KW W9 to my specs...which won't be like yours and negotiated a dang good deal at $125,000....how did I pay for it......CASH.But then look how long I've been doing this too.
Never seen a lease I liked and if you don't have the money for a truck then stay a company driver.....you can make money as a company driver. Everyone has a different way of putting money in the "truck account" and it is basically what works for you. The truck account is just that pays for anything major or minor the truck needs.
If you're just starting out in the industry here is a tip. This is not a forgiving industry....you can lose everything if you can't make it....everything includes your family. I alway suggest to work for a company for at least 5 years, 1st year is deciding if you like the work, 2nd year you are getting a rhythm for the road and honing your skill, 3rd-5th year putting back money for your chance of becoming an O/O and getting as many contacts as possible so you can broker your own loads.
I've known very few out of school to O/O and make it. Not an easy road but it can be done.

No it's not. He didn't say "how much is a used truck", so I gave him the average base price for a new one. I personally don't see any reason for the shock from you Madbunny since you stated you said you paid $125,000 for a 2006.
Big Diesel, I can see that you haven't looked at the prices of new trucks.
Some used ones can cost $90,000 depending on age, miles and configuration. If you pay attention to detail you can get a decent truck for around $110,00 to $120,000 again this depends on the specs'
A new bull rack runs around $50,000. They don't give them away you know.

Aww now no need to get upset. From your post it's like you had sticker shock as so many do when they see just how much they cost. I'm not trying to educate anyone on truck prices as I'm not a salesperson, just explaining why I said what I said. If I upset you then I'm sorry as it wasn't my intent. I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving!
