    It's alive...just not well.
They lost a major contract and pulled back to reorganize.
They got a couple new contracts and are still working.

The problem with that division is ownership does not understand the dynamics of the oil fields and are trying to run it like the refer division.
Drivers are paid well in the oil field and true to Stevens SOP they think they can pay low. What they found out is that they can't retain drivers and end up with drivers that are inexperienced. This leads to service failures and the customers won't put up with that.
So that's the story for now.

    nascarchuck and Barracuda905 Thank this.

Yesterday, Stevens posted an ad on the DFW craigslist: ATTENTION!! EXPERIENCED TANKER DRIVERS >>> MAKE UP TO $65K!! (JACKSBORO)

along with a couple of their weekly "start your driving career at stevens" job postings

That's $19 per hour, 65 hours per week. However, no one gets 19. They get 17 to start. No overtime (oil field workers and drivers are exempt from the OT rules)

Once a Stevens company driver reaches the requirements to be a driver trainer, and trains at least 8 drivers over the year, what would be a practical expected salary? over 65K?

That's San Antonio. Or was, anyway. Unless there's been changes in the last few weeks, Stevens is about $3-5/hr under the competition

Graduated from Stevens academy today for the second time. They still have 15 or so people from Wednesdays orientation class to dispatch and my class added another 25, so I'm not sure if I'll get off the yard tomorrow. If not, I'll be hanging at Americas worst for the weekend.
