You can choose what division you want to be in. It would be interesting to know what titer choice would be.
That say you get to choose a truck but they will assign you one. I guess that means you can say no if you don't like it, if it s something reasonable.

The Auto-spelling on this phone might get me banned one of these days.

Thank you , in your opinion which is the best for a new driver to go into?
-
as far as rates go i cant say bc im company and dont look at rates that would be a question for a l/o or some of the guys on the flatbed forum here avg miles are 2500-3000(my experience) and it could be more just depends on your hrs and what loads are avail as far as dead head goes i dont have an avg # atleast for me i get sent where im needed from picking in the same city/same place as i dropped to 300+ mi deadhead to get a load just depends on where the load is and if there is someone in the area to get it
-
Thanks DA. You are right, I need a l/o to fill me in. The DH is a big factor you need to figure what the load is really paying you. When I was a o/o running the southeast and Midwest I always tried to keep it under 100 miles at the most. I did have a company I hauled cell towers for that I'd go further then that but it loaded 15 minutes from my house and I pulled a tower for them every week or two and they paid good!! Thanks again
da1 Thanks this. -
Go back n get some of those cell towers n put um in Wyoming

There's only one FB lease/op here, and he hasn't spoken up in a while. The others are company guys, so don't have rate information. And since they are paid by the mile, their deadhead percentage doesn't matter much to them.

Ill deadhead from coast to coast lol I dont care. A lot easier to check an empty trailer, than worry about a load on it.

I dont know much about prime but I do know alot about flatbed. If you're looking at rates are you looking to be a l/o or o/o? If so rates vary drastically with the area you're operating in and where its going. Personally I dont take a load that doesnt pay at least $2-$2.50 per mile. I also know the freight lanes and stay in them unless the load out makes up for the loss of getting back in. The best load I hauled not counting oversized was just over $5 per mile. Now granted it only went 130 miles but I did two of those that day. Hope this answered you question. If youre considering doing a l/p for prime I would strongly reconsider. Im not here to bash anyone(I like to read what ord posts) and im sure there are guys that are happy and content with them but from what ive seen primes rates are low.

Yes it's what primes rates are I'm trying to figure out. I was a o/o in the late 90's. But I got of the game. Now I want to start over. Just trying to gather some info before I pull the trigger. Thanks.
