Hmm something said @ safety meeting maybe?

 

I heard there was a driver's forum after the safety meeting today.

 

I always wondered about those driver forums they mention in some of the commercials that they say the drivers have a say in things going on at the company. Unfortunately the whole time I have worked here I have never been in Joplin on a Friday to be able to attend.

 

I have been screaming about that for years now.....Having to "earn" 1 day off for working 7 days is &^*((&!!! Especially when most people just normally get 2 days off a week. I have many issues with working here, most of them by themselves I can tolerate, but the biggest issue I have is everything having to do with hometime. I would be alot happier if we could "earn" a day for every 5 days worked, or 1.5 days for 7, something better then just 1 day off for 7. Ultimately I will be looking for another job if that doesnt change. For me, my preferred tour would be either weekends at home(not just for a 34) or work 2 weeks, take 4 days off. I could handle that. Currently, I stay out a month or more, so I can take whatever day I get home, through to the next monday or tuesday. I need quality time with my kids.....hometime isnt just about downtime, doing laundry, and catching up on yard work, for me.
