For those who have hauled freight from the lower 48 to Alaska, would you do it again?
    Why or why not?

I try to get something to Alaska or the Yukon every now and then. It's an awesome run when the load pays enough to bounce out MT if needed. Lake Kluane in the Yukon is one of my favorite stopping places. I have a crow friend there that will land on the hood and eat cheeze-its until he's too fat to take-off. :)

The last time I drove to Alaska was the summer of '08. It was me, my brother and 2 friends. We left South Florida June 30th, and rode our bikes the whole way, camped for the most part, spent all of July touring every inch of Alaska, shipped the bikes back and flew home. I've traveled all over the world, but that was the best trip ever.

Heck ya if the moneys right. Just make sure you get enough for round trip as there isnt much there coming back down and make sure you have enough to cover the the trip/fuel permits you will need to buy. Also be prepared for Alaska POE.

I'm leased to Admiral Merchants and we actually have 3 trucks leased on here who are based in Alaska.
I don't know what they bring back south but there doesn't seem to be a shortage of freight to get them home anyways. I watch them on our inbound truck report and they seem to get home about as much as I do which is around once a month. (by my choice)

What an awesome trip that would be! I want to go up with a tiny camper. I'm not sure I'm hardy enough to do it on the bikes. It didn't occur to me to ship them home. Hmmm...

If you bring anything back its usually an LTL deal like someones vehicle, this is why you get paid for the round trip unless your a cheap freight hauling nimrod. They usually barge everything back and forth out of seatlle and do it very cheap and effectively.

I was up there in late Feb. early March over this year. It was my second trip up there. So the question was would I do it again and my answer is I don't really want to do it again.

Id love to go up there. I've been everywhere else. I need to find a company that goes up there. Lol. And I won't consider it being there unless I got to drive a truck up there. I'm weird I know.
