hi all, I started to look in to truck driving school. I started with parkland college in champaign IL. they had me go to the unemployment office to see if i could get aid to pay for the school. no luck there. Linda at park land has been helping me with my other options. before i really started talking to her i found CR England, when i asked her about them after trying for aid she told me to make them my last pick. she was telling me they use PAM or (crest i think is the other one) looking on here i see stevens transport and others offer what im looking for. and i read some are better then others. i know some are bad and some are good and each person has good or bad to say abut what is the best one to go to. i also know some just blow @$it. so i am asking for what it's worth if i go to PAM will i be wasting my time or should i look into Stevens transport or any others. i know i will be teamed up at first for a while i am looking to go solo when all is done at some point. any insight will help thanks

CRE should indeed be your LAST pick, if a pick at all.

England!!, If your desprite?, but there are better companies, on schooling?, I never went to one for trucking, but do a LOT of research on every company you can find before you make a choise, And DONT get into a lease straight out of school!!, Many find that after being on the road for a couple months, that they dont really like it, and quit, I have heard that some companies that lease trucks will hold you responcable for payment until they re-lease that truck, and also, stick you with heavy fines for turning in the truck, If you do lease?, PLEASE, read the terms and conditions of the contract IN FULL, I have read soooo many threads where the OP said, They are charging me this and/or that and didnt tell me!!, But guess what?,, It is in the contract!

thank you both for the info, this sight is helping me with all the threads i have read. i have not heard form the guy at premier CDL weather PAM is going to take me on but from what i have read on here no matter were you go there is good and bad so i hope i get mostly good with going to PAM, i don't really like the idea of teaming up for 6 mo's. PAM, Crest, what are some other companies have schools for newbies?
