I would take the 50.00 a hour, just make sure you can get it documented, email or fax but something on paper.

Let me think. No wait that makes my head hurt! So he has been there for five days (5x24) 120 hours so he can get 50 per hour that would be $6,000 good deal!

What are you smoking? He obviously picked up a load Friday that set him up for a 34 hour reset and delivered just before midnight Sunday setting him up to be empty early Monday morning able to look/book loads earlier than usual. Obviously this is a load that had it picked on a Thursday could have delivered Friday morning. In other words he did not lose 5 days due to the customer. At most he lost 24hrs Monday and several hours today. The way I see it the extra $700 makes this lemon into lemonade. Who wouldn't sit for $700 in a day? His weekend was planned the way it was for obvious reasons, why should the customer owe for that too?

Yep I sat there for a couple of days myself several months ago when I booked a turkey of a load that delivered right down the road from that resturaunt. The food wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. Actually I went in to eat cause I was hungry, no re-load in sight, and got a receipt or ticket to tape in the window that was good for 24 hours to park there. Sat there from a Thursday morning til a friday afternoon til I got outta dodge..

I was waiting on somebody to recommend calling in some federal marshalls, it is an option, in case you didn't know. :) I hear drivers telling how they do it all the time strong arming receivers and getting their way :-D
