I have driven with Schneider National back in 2008 for about 6 mo. I am conciering going on with CRST but I have to go through the company training. first. Do you know if already experianced drivers are able to get through the course quicker than a brand new driver? Thanks.

i just finished the refresher course, and already im noticing some disorganization. not to bad though...the instructors at kirkwood just focus on the double clutch...if you can drive a truck youll be fine, btw, you wont get through it quicker if you do know what youre doing though.

i did mine through roadmaster in tampa so i dont really know. if youre able get your cdl before and there are numerous companys that take recent school grads. it is alot i understand but makes for a wider selection of carriers.

Sorry to burst your bubble but 6 months driving is not qualified as an experienced driver. There's a very good chance you'll have to go thru the entire training program. On top of that it was 2008 since you drove last,ya you'll have to get retrained.

i did not mean to say experianced diver but as far as someone who had some training already. i do, however, realize there have some chages out there and just trying to find out how much changes as far as how much longer the courses might be or if they are still the same amount of time.

i think the biggest change you'll encounter is the CSA rules. you get points on your license now for violations. but everything else is about the same though. if you can get a refresher from somewhere then apply you should be able to get on anywhere. like pattyj said you'll still have to go through a trainer/lead driver program.

I live in the Oklahoma City area. If anybody knows of any trucking companies that would hire local drivers with the little training I have that would be great too. Dout there would be though in that area. I do want to keep it legal and safe.
