1800/2100 Series 60 Detroit Engines

    Was just wondereing what the difference is between the 1800 and 2100 rpm 12.7L series 60 engines. Is it just the rpm the engine is governed at or does it have something to do with the torque curve of the motor? Which one is preferred??

    HP, 455 is usually 1800 and 500 is 2100. Huge difference in power.

    Was curious because the 430/470 1800 rpm truck im driving now seems to pull alot better than the 430/500 2100 rpm truck i was driving.

    Lot's of factors, leaks in your CAC, weak injectors, over head not right, gearing, transmission, etc. Also DDEC years.
