Theres no doubt this will be a great truck, like I said the euro volvo is a tough truck, I had two , sold both with 1m each on em and never put a penny into them except servecing and erm ....damage, it will be cheap to run and will be comfortable and those are more important than looks here but I am disappointed they didn't do a better job on finishing it, it could turn owner drivers away from them

Hey guys, just look at the way they designed the freaking doors, the door window! The window on them doors have that stupid 45*^ at the front top corner. The bottom of them windows drop another 6" below the bottom of the windshield, a really archaic look like on some 1930 military vehicle that just improvised a holle in that piece of canvas covering the side trap in bad weather. The stupid lines in the bodywork that are so out of place with just about any other future on that cab, and oughhh.......the fraking top of that cab looks just ridiculous!

It looks like it was made out of lego pieces!

@Westbound. 23 years of trucking and I just drove an auto for the first time. I do not care if it makes me look lazy or if it makes it too easy for rookies, I love it. Doing heavy haul in mountains like I do, I can web surf with my right hand instead of shifting.

Ya man, you make some good points, but don't forget that the competition ain't sleeping, and now seeing that they have an advantage in looks, the next step for them is to offer an independent front axle and a couple of other theck improvements and.....bang, Volvo ain't what it used to be anymore.
And the otner thing is that these guys can learn allot from the things that don't really work that great in the Volvo design and make it even better.
Who cares who was first with the idea? It's all about who makes it better after all!

Y'all judge Volvo from the point of view of "what it was", but wait and see if the new Volvo stays true to the name they built all this years.

This thing it's just out of the wrapper and nobody knows exactly if this thing it is in the real world what Volvo reps are saing it is. It's one thing to test it on their proving grounds for a few months, and a totally another thing when it's put to work in the real world.......and the warranty runs out.......and just as the warranty runs out ya find out that the whole thing goes to the crapper on you!

Just my opinion based on years of experiencing with trucks, and learning that the beast you know it's allot better then the one you haven't the slightest idea of what it'll bring you!

I gonna try to tell what's going on with Volvo trucks.

They invested too much in powertrain, emissions and axels. but new cab is the expencive thing, becouse matrix for truck cab is really expencive thing! they try to use matrix from 90-s (first FH and early VN). So they change small sheet metal parts and add more plastic parts. They try to save money! making really new cabin is too expenceve game now.

Well, I hope that they will not discontinue the existing/old FH. Maybe offer it at a larger scale with the XXL cab for those O/Os that still wanna buy a proven and good looking Volvo truck. If I was living in the EU I'd still buy the FH16 XXL from a dealer in Norway the this ugly thing......or if it's not available anymore as a new truck, I'd buy a used one. If that fails also, I'd try my luck with MB, MAN, even DAF.......at least I'll get something that looks like a truck is suppose to look like! LOL

Paccar made no new cab. DAF 105 cab is based on XF95. T660 is modified T600.

    MAN TGX is facelifted TGA.

Really new cabs are Actros MP4 and new International cabs.

All other cabines are from 90-s.
