I will start with a good one, Dino's Truck shop Bowling Green, KY.

Nextran Volvo in Tampa is a bad one.

Funny you mention Nextran. None of the Nextran shops are any good for Volvos. Macks, they are awesome. Volvos, yeah, not so much. I think they only grabbed Volvo to hold that side of the market when the Mack work is slow.

The last I heard was that Volvo actually owned Mack, but that could have already changed again in the coporate world of buyouts and take overs. Got nothing good or bad to add to the list.

I have had good luck with R & H Truck and Trailer in Vincennes, IN. They have been in business since 1956. They have a very reasonable labor rate of $80 per hour.

L&C Diesel Repair in Houston is good for mine...not so much for A/C though. $65/hr labor rates.

Sioux City Truck and Trailer in Sioux City, Iowa. Pretty good, they focus on solving problems not hanging parts. I am comfortable bobtailing 3 hours from Des Moines just to get engine work done. I am also impressed with Quality Service Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa for general truck repairs.

On the other hand, McKenna Truck Center in Des Moines, Iowa is a horrible shop and I will never darken their doorstep again. They LOVE hanging expensive parts weather it fixes the problem or not. Had I known their service was so horrid, I would not have purchased a Volvo.

I was just at Volvo in Raleigh NC, seemed friendly enough. Didn't have to book 3 months in advance, fixed the problem and was on my way.

*M&K Volvo in Portage,MI...been there 3 times and they fix the problems, let you talk with the tech's, and bend over backwards to get the real problem fixed.
-Denver Volvo...Profits first, service second, fix your real problem...?....Maybe.
-Little Rock,Volvo...get you right in if it's an expensive job like EGR valves. otherwise your left twiddlin.!!!
Omaha,NE Volvo...Had a DOT Inspection, got the bill, $826.12...they pulled the truck out of the shop and turned off the key...all the air in both tanks exhausted in about 3 minutes....(This was the reason I went there in the first place)....Serv.MNGR had his tech reprimanded....(back stage)..I over-heard them talking about profits and the customer is # 2 "AFTER" the shop income.
*Wheeling WV,Volvo..good prices on all parts bought thru the website. and they honor your customer p/u if your having the parts installed....D12 Oil pan and gasket....$414.00 + $116.00 (parts) Labor of 1.5 hours. same day service
-South Bend,IN Volvo (repairs only). they can change a sensor, but the could not adjust my speed.....duh !!....told me I needed a new ECM ...NOT...so I bob-tailed 91 miles at 3am to ***M&K Volvo in Portage,MI, they fixed the problem in 35 minutes, billed me $57.00 *** No ECM needed.***

Conclusion of this driver, Go to M&K in Portage, and buy your Big ticket parts in Wheeling,WV online and ship them to M&K in Portage,MI, they'll add $35.00 outside parts fee( which I understand) but all the parts are Volvo OEM....and the work is ..."Problem Solving".

MBI is hiring Oil field Drivers @ $3500/2weeks, no truck needed....in or near Williston,ND..2 weeks training @ MBI is needed, 6weeks on...2 weeks of...!

    Have a great Life !!!
