we had a steering wheel holder TWICE get going down the road with barn doors still pinned open
CAXPT Thanks this. -
One of drivers was in a hurry and took off with the doors still open. Luckily I have everyones phone numbers and was able to call and stop him while he was still in sight. He was pretty surprised he had done it.

Great comments.
Pretrip was done on the trailer. U got to do one. To many people damaging the trailers and not saying anything.
I had remembered to slide them then got caught up cleaning out the trailer for my next shipper. (They want the trailer swept out ) and just forgot.
Told sni today and they didnt really care.
Lesson learned. Dont be in a hurry and double check your work. Cuz you may have forgot something. -
It is really great to get a routine going, and then stick to it. Once you get that down, then it is all automatic. (Until some jerk wad comes up and starts blabbering to you about something.)
You did right by telling the company. You have a good attitude, and will probably last in the business.Dna Mach, aiwiron, CAXPT and 1 other person Thank this. -
I once forgot to slide them after unloading. Got pulled into the scale at Rainbow, CA. $185 ticket, no points, however it does appear on the CVSA record.

Absolutely. I do the same things in the same order everytime. Walking around the truck in the same direction, put the airlines back in the same order etc...The only time I forgot to unhitch the lines and pulled them off the truck was when someone came over in the middle of my routine and started talking to me. Luckily there was a truckstop nearby so went over and paid out of pocket to get them fixed and was on my way. Lesson learned, however.

Thank for posting the link.
But I have a headache nowCAXPT Thanks this. -
Just got a warning in Maryland. 41' kingpin to center of tandems max, BUT there is an overhang rule too! Your overhang past your tandems CANNOT exceed 35% of the wheel base. And its a $530 fine. And try to find a place to stop somewhere on I83S to slide them.
