Ignore the trolls. Most have no experience with Prime. Some do have experience, but couldn't make it. Of course its never their fault.

I dont think simply because a driver wishes to be home more than once every few months makes him unable to make it at Prime. My friend goes home once a month and occasionally more than that. He was trained at Prime and now is a cdl instructir/trainer there. He is on his third or fourth lease. So I think you can make a living and still have a home life. However I will say that it seems most of the lease guys posting here all have that "i never go home" philosphy,I dont know maybe Im taking the sentiment wrong but if my friend didnt work there Id think that the only way you could make money on the lease side was by doing that. So y'all arent doin Prime any favors by making it sound that way if thats your intent. That kind of thing is a deal breaker for most if us because we have families. My friend will also tell you there are plenty of times you will make less than $500/wk on the lease but most times due to no fault of your own. Load not ready when you arrive, weather delays etc etc. Some weeks just dont come together no matter how hard you try. Not saying anything bad because that happens with all companies but to make it sound as if you will always bring home a check is a bit pie in the sky imho.

I'm single n live alone.... I got no reason to go sit at the house. I'm happier out on the road.

You can be at home as much as you can afford - that applies to any carrier, any sort of lease or lease purchase contract... AND it applies to company drivers just as much as it does to lease-ops and owner-ops. It's quite simple... none of us get paid unless the wheels are turning, and that doesn't happen from the couch with your arm around momma.
At Prime, yeah, you have to pay the bills... they keep on coming whether you're running or not. So planning your home time financially is important - unless you don't mind the zero cash flow that comes with being "in the hole." If maximizing your home time is your primary goal, you'd be better served finding a company job with some kind of regional carrier - but don't expect to be a millionaire soon. Cash is something you usually give up for that sort of deal. Its all about trade-offs, and finding something that suits your needs.MikeyB. Thanks this. -
That right there is reason enough to get out of the truck and ummmmm "get some" kind of life LOL
