Last night at 12:03AM a "professional truck driver" banged on the window of my commercial vehicle and informed me that I was parked in a spot reserved for a semi. He went on a ranting rage filled with curses and foul language. Stating that there had already been three complaints on me and his was the fourth, I assume to the authorities? I guess the NC HP. Now I am confused. Upon entering the rest area in Marion, NC there is a sign that says "Cars" with an arrow pointing right and below that a sign that says "Trucks, Trucks with trailers" and an arrow pointing left. I have a Ford F550 crew cab with an 18 foot rolloff bed and wheel lift. I have the DOT and MC numbers on my truck. I am pretty sure this is not a car, so I parked in the truck area. This driver also said I was going to get a "big fat ticket" for parking where "semis" were suppossed to park. I have never heard of this and would like to know the statute that addresses this. Finally, after more verbal abuse, I left.
My opinion of truck drivers just hit an all time low. I hope this jerk is not representative of the industry.

No this guy is not representative of most truck drivers, he was an ignorant idiot. Like they stated above he probably wanted your spot. Most of us are great people, the best people on earth if I do say so myself
