Well it's official. Prime accepted my application. Heading out to Springfield to start orientation on the 24th. Am a little nervous about the interview. Any info on it would greatly be appreciated.

If there is anything in your driving or criminal (if you have one) record that you haven't disclosed - even minor or potentially embarassing stuff - you need to call your recruiter before you go and make sure the record is clear. Be painfully honest - that's what they want. You will complete another application in pen and ink when you get to orientation, and that will be compared to what you entered online. The investigators that Prime employs on a full-time basis are good, and if you are trying to hide something, they will find it. Since everything started going on computers, it's hard to hide anything including whether you pick your nose! So don't guess, make sure you have disclosed it! The "integrity interview" is just a formal comparison of what you've put down about yourself, and what various computer databases say about it.
What they are mostly looking for is someone trying to hide something that is potentially disqualifying. Omissions, out and out fabrications, etc are deal killers - not the acts themselves - unless we're talking about serious criminal acts - assault, theft, rape, etc. - some of these will prevent you from obtaining a TWIC card or a hazmat endorsement. Also, consider what kind of liability Prime would be at if they don't find a sexual predator who gets into a client's business and commits a rape?
Many drivers will get into trouble on the road - tickets, accidents, criminal acts - and get fired for them. Previously, the databases that many carriers accessed may not have disclosed all of this, so the background checks have become microscopic. Why? Because if some joker with a bunch of tickets and accidents sneaks in, doesn't disclose his record and Prime misses it, and then proceeds to kills a motorist on the road, the junkyard dog liability litigation attorneys will have a field day with a carrier- and their money. That's why the carriers have to do a great job on candidates backgrounds to keep these types on the sidewalk.
So... relax, make sure you bring anything you'll need to jog your memory for dates, employers, addresses, etc, and get on with your new career!MikeyB. Thanks this. -
Thanks for all the info ironpony. How far back do they go? When I talked to my recruiter she said only three years. I definitely plan on bringing everything they want or need. As my mom told me when I was a kid honesty is the best policy. Have nothing to hide. I want this job. Trucking is in my blood. My dad drove a truck for over 20 years.

I did have an issue with an address that I forgot to put down and I told my recruiter and she said its not a big issue. Have nothing to hide. Just suck and get nervous during interviews.

they go back pretty far 10+ yrs. just tell them everything and explain it before you go. you wont get a second chance when you get there.
-
It's three years for tickets, five years for alcohol/drug related stops, seven I believe for felonies. However, the best policy is just to reveal everything, and let the chips fall where they may. You'll get points for your honesty.MikeyB. Thanks this.

Gotcha all. Employment is 3 years too right? That was the 3 years I was referring to. My apologies for not being more specific. And I really appreciate all the info.
-

-
No its 10 years if you have driven, 5 if not. Its DoT regulations.
