Too much....
-
Mine is $62 a week for 2 years. I put $1000 or $1500 down on it. Can't remember which. I'll probably get in trouble for saying this but I don't think it's too much.
silenteagle and Wartog Thank this. -
Sure beats paying for fuel to idle the trucks engine. If you're buying one, it's $1500 down, and whatever olphart said per week. Lease ops pay $70 per week.
-
what if the truck your gaving already has a APU how much you pay?
-
Huh? Try english.
Adding an APU to a lease truck - whether it's on it or not is $70 per week. Fuel to operate it is about 0.5 gal per day (a 10 hour rest break for instance) x 7 days x $4/gallon for diesel, or about $14 per week in diesel fuel. PMs run about $85, and I usually get around three per year, so per week that's about $5.00. So your cost per week is about $90-ish.
Now, idling a large diesel engine in fuel alone, neglecting all other costs... 1.5 gallons per hour, 10 hours per day, 7 days per week, at $4/gal... $420 per week. That doesn't include the internal damage to the engine that long periods of idling causes, nor the decrease in resale value becaue of high idle times.Last edited: Sep 13, 2012
