Doing great. Delivered a load out of Cali to Austin this a.m. Waiting a load coming out of Laredo that has to be in Dallas in the morning, then in Smyrna on Sat. Counting down the days to be back in Big Orange country for Thanksgiving. How's things with you??

This won't help you now but when you get a truck.. take the last 6 digits of your trucks VIN number and call the truck dealer for the type of truck you are driving and tell them you need the size of the mattress.. They will tell you and you can then go order a special order mattress for about 3 times the amount of a regular one.. I would use memory foam.. BTW when you call on said mattress don't tell them bed tell them mattress or they will charge you a restock fee on the bed too.. because a matress is not a bed..
You may not be able to sleep on that thin little mattress right now, but you will.. You will be so beat after that first day you will fall asleep .. Stop complaining about stuff and just do it.. and if you go out with a trainer he is not going to allow you to bring your own personal mattress in his truck he will throw you out on day one.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Or, you could simply use a tape measure - and measure it.
Why does everything have to be so complicated?tommymonza and Wajid8705 Thank this. -
just get a 2.5 inch memory pad from costco for $80. They also have 3 inch for around 100.

Good to hear you two are doing good. I'm jealous, I have never been west of Louisiana. Can't wait to hit the oPen road. Wish my wife was teamed with me like you guys are. Anyhow I live 15 mins from Smyrna, hope I get some loads near there. Go VOLS, kick some gator ### this Saturday!

You will definitely get the opportunity to travel if you go OTR. We've been to 47 states in 4 years. Haven't made North Dakota, had a load thru there last fall, but we would have been 3 days ahead of schedule, so they swapped us with another driver. I have absolutely loved the time on the road because of being able to see so much of the country. Maybe your wife can come along as a rider some, then you can convince her to drive.

When I was OTR. I bought a 4 inch memory foam pad off a eBay store called sleepy mountain mattress for under $60. Best money I ever spent. Great sellers and it's still holding up.
It goes on top of the standard spring mattress.Last edited: Sep 14, 2012

I wouldn't order anything until you are assigned a truck. Too much can go wrong between here and there. Plus what are you going to do with it until then? I would personally advise you to hold off on any kind of purchases for your truck until you get the keys for it. Its much easier to just put the money aside for things now and buy them once you have the truck. Once you get your keys to your truck drive to walmart. It shouldn't take more than an hour to fully accessorize it.
Colorato Thanks this.
