Looking at these kw-680s and I know they have Pacc engines, has anyone dealt with them? How are they in terms of liability? Always had a cat and would like to know from drivers would dealt with them, who have driven them, are currently driving them, instead of salesmen.. any info is appreciated!

I am seriously considering to order a T680 in the near future, but would not buy with Paccar MX engine. It is pretty new in North America, you can fix it only at Paccar garages, even they do not know too much about them yet. This is a European engine from DAF. It was famous for extensive oil consumption and short life, 3-400.000 miles. Since 2009 they build a new version, which is much better, but do not expect a million mile. Also not as great on fuel as you would expect. At highway operation with 80.000lbs the 15 liter engines are comparable or even better. To make sure I asked the engineers from Cummins and Detroit since they have 12 or 13 liter engine and 15 liter too. All of them are available with comparable horse power and torque, only the small engine produce this power on the top of their abilities, the big ones on the bottom. Both said the bigger engines are better on fuel and you expect longer life. Now, you will not hear it from Paccar, since they do not have 15 liter engine. But they have Cummins, what will be my choice for sure.
I would be happy to hear about your experience about the T680, because the only time when I saw it, it was on the Mid America Truck Show in March. I fall in love with it but it start to become a faded dream. -
I've owned two, very bad reliability, one only lasted 130,000 miles and the second less than 340,000 miles and both had to be rebuilt ( which for some reason the warranty wouldn't cover ) stay far away from them, stick with something you know cos these are a bad engine! And don't believe the bs that they've fixed the problem, a claimed mechanic on this forum tried to say that the American versions were remedied by fitting an extra piston ring, why would they fix the American ones and not the European engines? Rubbish, get a Detroit! Save yourself the misery!

Stop telling lies pls. -
but the same can be said for Volvo's with the Vovlo engine.
And can you go outside off the dealers to have work done on a Freightliner with a modern Detroit or an International with Maxxforce engine....?
(i really don't know,somebody pls answer this)
As an example off this influence is that the dipstick can only be used daily on a conventional which Daf doesn't built.
Aldough it wasn't nice , it's performance wasn't effected by it.
Paccar did honor the warranty and had the ones which used to much oil rebuild.
Problem was solved.
Overhere they are mostly known for their fuel economy.
I include all brands in this.
