Hey guys sorry if this is the wrong area to post. I'm looking for some questions with logbooks and co-drivers. Sometimes when I train on a different truck setup I go with another guy who is experienced on that truck. Most of that time I don't drive, just learn the correct way to load unload the unit. My company insists I have to log the mileage, even though im not the driver, is this ok? Is it even legal?

You can log the mileage and list yourself as a co-driver but mark the time as on duty - not driving. It may be a company policy, but it is not legally necessary unless you will actually drive the unit.

what he said ^^^...you cant log it as driving if you dont....thats a legal docuement......you have to log it on duty not driving....
-
Yeah that's how we've been logging it. Thanks guys.
-
thus endith the thread .... on duty, not driving, and all lived happily ever after.
-
I would not log the miles, and yes log on duty.
-
Correct. .

This was the actual question, the company was telling me to log the mileage as if I'd been driving, but draw my lines as on duty.

My Log book has 2 areas to place miles. one is total miles and the other is Miles that I drove. SO I would just put the total miles in and put a zero in the space for miles you drove.
Speedloader Thanks this.
