I had the same concern when I first got my Cpap. With the heated humidifier I never had the problem with a dried nose. I have had my Cpap for for 2 years now and never had a night time nose bleed, before I got the machine I had night time nose bleeds about twice a week.

I'm really torn on this matter. I really don't know what to do. Dbl says have two weeks to so test or leave SNI. I talked to my doc and says I don't need it but said It is a crap shoot you can b tested one night and fail but test next night and pass. No two nights are the same. She said no matter she b around if I have issues. I know its the future and really don't have a choice

Just my two cents: Take the test. SNIs provider is pretty straight forward. When I took my test, there was another driver there taking his. He snored, but he did not have SA. I do, and a severe case. Precision Pulmonary was always straight up with me, unlike some other companies providers. Take it one step at a time. You may take the test and find out you're just fine.

When I took my test last December, they had bobtail parking at the sleep lab that I went to, so they put a portable testing unit on me and I slept in the truck and woke up in the morning, went inside and waited while they downloaded the results. Then they came and told me it was positive for sleep apnea, fitted me for the proper mask, gave me all the information along with the machine and all related accessories. They also call you about once a week the first couple of months to check how you are doing with the pressures which they can change and check the data using a wireless transmitter that you leave on the machine during that time. After that time frame, they give you a shipping label to ship the transmitter back.

Still whole thing sounds like a scam. I bet the rate that test positive is 99%. I'm really wishing I didn't agree to it.

Fyi these clowns are trying to make me do that too the only real concern i have is if the va will pay for it if i was diagnosed because i being prior service was told an ex ssg of mine got 100% disability just for sleep apnia thats something to look into becUse that would def help with the money im not making at sni.

The VA does pay you for it, I was diagnosed with it and they gave me 50%, which is $770 a month with 3 dependents, but I also has a few other items on Va claim.

A higher evaluation of 50% for Obstructive sleep apnea based on:
Requires use of breathing assistance device such as continuous airway pressure (CPAP) machine.

A higher evaluation of 50% is not Warrented unless there is:
    Chronic respiratory failure; or,
    Carbon dioxide retention; or,
    Cor pulmonale; or,
    Tracheostomy required.

    Per VA Pamphlet 80-11-01 P94663

So do you have to already be diagnosed through the military or how does that work?
