These co's are to blame for the most part for the turnover rates!!...quit lying to these drivers to just get them in a seat..because more likely than not, a driver will not stay with dishonest co's period..
My advice to all these whining co's...be truthful and more drivers might be willing to stay with you...continue the lying deceitful ways and you will continue to have high turnover issues!chalupa Thanks this. -
The article indicates it's qualitative, which tells me all the FMSCA regulations via CSA2010 are starting to take hold now. Just think what it's going to be like when the second round of regulatory requirements regarding hours of service, eobr's, etc, are implemented in 2013/2014.

I haven't seen anything that says CSA has lowered cmv crashes, has anyone else?

You're reverting ALL of the blame on the carriers>are you implying that drivers aren"t responsable for their own actions and in fact get what they don"t deserve.
How many times have we read here about a driver going to Prime or CRE and although they were warned countless/numerous times they still process. Drivers are in most cases the makers of their own misery and I believe they are the largest part of the problem! As long as drivers keep showing up for work and working for peanuts they will NEVER get ahead. There is supposed to be a driver shortage so pay rates should be skyrocketing BUT they aren't! Why...because drivers keep showing up and taking it in the shorts!
You reap what you sow.48Packard, chalupa, sharpshooter and 1 other person Thank this. -
I've only been in this industry for 3 plus years. I started with a mid-sized carrier, kept my nose clean and moved to a small regional carrier. My pay has increased by 30% in these 3 years, the benefits I receive now are much better than when I started as well. I expect to gross 65k this year, which doesn't make me rich, however, it's a sustainable wage with the benefits my boss provides. Not to mention, I'm home every week.

This must be for new hires only as I meet drivers for every major company on a daily basis that have driven for them over 1 yr so a 106% turnover would be impossible.
-
An upper management guy I knew in my previous company told me they had to hire 1,400 drivers a year to just maintain the 1,000 they had.
