What is the maximum size fuel tank I can transport on the deck of my flatbed before I need a tank endorsement and placards? This fuel tank would be moved from jobsite to jobsite when placed into service.
Thanks for your assistance.

Permantly mounted or temporarly mounted?
Tank vehicle means any commercial motor vehicle that is designed to transport any liquid or gaseous materials within a tank or tanks having an individual rated capacity of more than 119 gallons and an aggregate rated capacity of 1,000 gallons or more that is either permanently or temporarily attached to the vehicle or the chassis. A commercial motor vehicle transporting an empty storage container tank, not designed for transportation, with a rated capacity of 1,000 gallons or more that is temporarily attached to a flatbed trailer is not considered a tank vehicle.ralph Thanks this. -
Temporary, just moved empty (except fumes) from job to job. Not mounted or attached to trailer, but secured by chains/straps.

It won't matter if it is full or empty. Assuming diesel feul 119 gallons max in one tank for tanker and hazmat endorsement.
You could haul a bit more diesel in an additional tank without getting hazmat.ralph Thanks this.
