I have a 04 isx475 in my eagle, problem is that the engine fan wont shut off. I assumed it was the solenoid, try again. I do have an air leak in my secondary that ive been unable to locate so im wondering if its the fan clutch. I have 1 fault code, 219:F02 SID009_A
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It may be the fan clutch if the seloinid is OK.

With the key on and engine off the fan clutch should release. If you have an air leak you should hear it at this time. When you shut down the engine, you should hear the fan solenoid "chirp" a few seconds after you key off. If not, there may be an issue with air supply to solenoid or a wiring issue. With the air system charged up you can shut off the engine, unplug the fan solenoid and supply it with power and ground and see if the fan clutch is physical working, and/or leaking air. You may also have a stuck a/c high pressure switch so the ECM thinks the fan should be on all the time. You can try to unplug the switch, ( should be the one near the compressor, usually red in colour), and jump the connector with a paper clip or something.

My plug is blue that comes off the compressor, but I did try jumping it with no luck. Im leaning towards the clutch because I recently installed a new hub and Im second guessing myself if I may have dropped or banged the clutch around. Dont think I did, but all this just started right after I did the new install. I know air is entering and exiting the new solenoid but im wondering if its making it to the clutch. This why it would free spin after shutting off the engine, correct???

It should lock up after shutting off the engine. You may just have the solenoid plumbed wrong.
-
I wish it were that simple..lol. Its right, double checked!
-
Did you install a spring release, air applied clutch?
-
I used the existing clutch, dont think its spring released. Just bought a new hub because the old ones bearing was coming apart, maybe from a fan that wont shut off lol.I transferred the old clutch to the new hub. As far as I could tell there was only one way to do this, so it should be correct. Not sure of name brand but was told its not a Horton.
-
Can you supply compressed air directly to the clutch to make sure it is mechanically good and releases?
philjo Thanks this. -
Ended up being the clutch. I applied air to the hub and noticed it wasn't releasing. Took it off and the urethane bushing looked like a dog had been chewing on it. Replaced the clutch with a new one and it works great. So relieved that I'll be achieving more than 5mpg and have all my horses back! Lol, thanks for all your help.
