Mardet, thanks for sharing. I live in Metro ATL. Unfortunatly at the opposite end of most of the trucking outfits. ( Canton ) For the smaller outfits around here; things are still DEAD. I love flatbedding for the adventure. Gimme linehaul for the money. For me, a hard choice.
The worst companies.

I never had to run illegal, never asked to run illegal, never had to speed (truck only goes 65).
As for the FMSCA page, a lot of the mega carriers aren't much better... -
That website is just another tool, with some info for your use.........

I agree it is a valuble tool for drivers to use.
Not specific to this thread, but I feel a lot of people tend to forget that drivers have 100% free will. The times I ran over hours or overweight, I choose to do it, no one had a gun to my head.123456 Thanks this. -
Yeah, that's great information and it's in the 'take it for what it's worth' department. It will not keep me from making application to them. I, like most do not stretching things a bit. How did one safety guy put it?...."intelligent log management". I just looked at him and busted out laughing. Which was his way of saying 'you can run hot if your pensil is sharp'.

Usually the ones that recruit from the schools are the ones to stay away from! Your best chances of success would be to stay away from the top 5 mega-carriers. Aim for a small to mid size company. Take time to do your research. The companies worth working for don't advertise. This is because their turnover rate is low and their drivers are happy working for them. Doesn't set off a little bell in your head when you hear that companies spend millions of dollars in advertising to get YOU to work for THEM!!!
